When Can You Wear Makeup After a Procedure?
Post-procedure makeup timing varies depending on the treatment. It is recommended to avoid makeup for 4-6 hours after Botox and 24-48 hours after fillers. After thread lifts and laser/chemical peels, follow the timeframe specified by your physician (generally 24-48 hours).
Makeup Guidelines After Botox and Fillers
- Do not apply pressure with brushes or fingers to the treatment area during the first hours.
- Choose mineral or lightweight formulas; heavy foundation can be postponed.
- Cleanse with gentle, non-irritating products.
Product Selection After a Procedure
Fragrance-free, non-comedogenic products are recommended, along with SPF-containing makeup or a separate sunscreen. Additional guidelines can be found in our post-filler care and post-Botox care articles.
Keeping makeup brushes clean and waiting at least 24 hours before using them reduces the risk of infection. Opting for BB or CC cream instead of foundation puts less stress on the skin during the post-procedure period. Evening makeup should always be removed with a gentle cleanser; do not apply pressure to the treatment area.
